Yesterday we had an appointment to check the heartbeat of our baby. But lucky as we are the doctor asked if we would like to have an ultrasound. I mean is that really a question, certainly we wanted to see our baby inside. And it was just so cute. It waved in our direction, danced a little bit and even sucked its thumb. I can't really express how happy it made me to see it was alive and kicking. Also I start to feel it from time to time it is always a relief to actually see that everything is ok. Guess all the parents out there can relate to that.

This is my second wedding of the year. It was a wonderful day in April with all it's weather twists. Luckily it did not start to rain so we were able to enjoy a sunny/cloudy afternoon with quite chilly temperatures. Maybe you recognise the two of them of one of my E-Session shootings. They look dressed up for their wedding even more stunning and beautyful. And I had the pleasure to meet their cute Babyboy A. as well as it was a big day for him too - he got his baptism during the same ceremony. All in all it was a wonderful day filled wit laughter and love, which all attendees may not forget so soon.

E-Session

As you noticed right. After some (well explained) absence,the blogworld has me finally back. And for your eyes there is just another slideshow to enjoy. It is another of my wedding couples. Whom I had the pleasure to shoot their E-Session in the industrial area nearby my house. I adore this location. It is just so different to the usual swiss cenery and gives the couple pictures a stylish modern touch. As you will see the couple is just so sweet and in love with each other. Can't wait to see sharing their love on June 14 (which is by the way also my birthday - yes, my couples are more important than my special day). Keep watching...

First Wedding 2008

Here is the slideshow of the first wedding I shoot in 2008. It was an amazing event which I enjoyed with all of my heart. It was perfectly organised by their incredible bridesmaid N. who really is one of the best wedding planners I've ever met. As well the couple is so incredible. I absolutely enjoy seeing them together sharing their love and can't wait to see who is popping out of D. end of May. It can only be a true love baby!

And I think for the first time in my life I got just amazing gifts! Thank you all so much for the well thought and really adorable gifts I received. I am looking much forward to use them.

you may wonder. Oh, the answer is not exciting at all. First I had almost a week I just worked on several projects till I was able to enjoy a very nasty flue. Ok, yes it was not a real pleasure and I'm still suffering from the afterpains but I at least feel slowly better. And besides this I had quite many photoshoots which I have to admit I am still working on developing the pictures. But they will be worth to wait, here is a first little sneak for N. just to make the waiting a little more endurable.

The perfect christmas gift

I believe in photography. And not only because I am a photographer. I truly believe in capturing moments and preserve them for our families. Who does not like to strive trough the family photos and remember when they have been snapped? Even you din't like the picture in the time they have been made, a few years later you will treasure them anyway. That's exactly why portrait pictures are a perfect gift for christmas (and also for any other occasion). Parents, Grandparents, sibligns and close friends will love to have a nice picture of their beloved ones!

I believe that especially here in Switzerland people have still to focus more on the saving of memories. And photography is just a perfect way to do.

And as an example how portraits could look like have an eye on the pictures of beautyful K. sisters.

Do you Backup?

I do! And there is a very simple reason why you should too - backups save our life. I mean how much valuable information do you store on your PC/MAC day by day? I defenitely do a lot!

And now you are asking why I talk about this? Today my computer crashed, it was not even starting anymore... (and it is still not starting). I really do not know why, maybe a virus maybe some other reason. Lucky (or smart, this is up to you) as I am I store essential data (like customer files/pictures)on external drives and so I'm saved for most parts this time. The worst thing happened due to this crash is that I lost ALL my e-mails! And there was some information on my C which I may not get back again. I just wanted to backup my C this week, but as usual if you don't do it when you think at it you forget to do it til it's to late. - So if you think you should backup your PC or MAC do it, do it right now. It may save your life...

Gadgets

Remember this post? I orderd it and it arrived yesterday. So within a few weeks our family grew by two magic lenses. And there are some more family members out there, begging for my money, lol.

Besides this amazing lens I got another gadget:

so fun to play with and the best thing is, it combines a mobile phone, music player and a camera in one thing. The camera is really not to bad, up to ISO800 and 5MB Pixel. And besides all his nice features it just looks stylish and classy. What could a girl ask more from a phone?

Living with Nr. 1

It's official now, my husband is Nr. 1!
He made the best result at the exam for sales managers. Means out of over 200 people who did this exam he was the best. I knew before he's smart but now it's official that he's not only smart but at least the smartest sales manager 07/08, haha. Congratulations again to you, you deserve it!

... yes you guessed, it is a beach wedding theme. Even tough there are no beaches at all in Switzerland due to the lack of sea, people still like to have beach weddings. Two among these people are Isabelle and Manuel who will get married in 3 weeks at a beach in Tasmania. I created their wedding stationary, including cards and placecards. I really like how the things turned out.

upgrade in more than one way

Today was a busy day. Ok not as busy as I still enjoy some leasure time, but quite busy for a half sick lady. I meet up with two very dear friends of mine and I enjoyed the time with these fantastic ladies. I am once more amazed how much one can learn just from a talk with people you like and care! And honestly I did not feel as good as today for a very long time. I somehow have to confess to myself that during the past few weeks before I stopped working at "the company" I got stressed on a level beyond the surface. And I now also assume that my sickness was just a normal reaction of my body to all the stupid and ugly things that happened. But the nice thing is, now I can move forward. Focus on what I really enjoy and believe in: Design and Photogrpahy.

A few minutes ago I also installed Adobe Creative Suite 3 and it's just sooo nice to work again with the newest version of the Adobe Products. You may think there's not much difference, but for me it is just so much more comfortable!

And I got a nice surprise! My sister gave me a really beautyful bound book I will use for some of my projects. She's just so sweet. Thank you for surprising me!

Oh and by the way, Ratatouille was a blast! Really cute movie and not to mention the premovie which was just too hilarious. Go and see both if you haven't yet.

Isn't it funny. Every year I believe that this year I will start looking early for presents. But almost everytime I can not find something suitable or let's be honest I can't wait to keep it a secret for such a long time.

When it comes to surprises I am strange anyway. I HATE surprises. At least the one kind of people always talk about the surprise. Like "you know, I've got a surprise for you". That's so stupid, either tell me what it is or just wait and give it to me the moment you really want to give it. It drives me nuts to know there is something and I can't get it, aargh.

My huge curiosity has always been one of my weaknesses. I can remember that when I was a child I always tried to find out what gifts I would get for Christmas. Many times I found out the hide-outs of my parents and I cheated. And honestly, I much preferred to know what I get than to be surprised. This has not changed and I assume it never will. What I anyway do, is hoping for surprises, but as I told you the right kind of surprises. And this Is what I am hoping to get:

Finally got a name for my sickness. And as awful it sound as awful noises I produce. Have you ever seen the movie "spaceballs" with John Candy and you know Dark Helmet or in German Lord Helmchen? Or if you now the original Star Wars with Darth Vader and his strange breathy-voicy. I sound like their younger sister...

And some news regarding the new website. According my dns server provider the site is runnging. But I can't see anything, so just have wait some more time, Aaargh. Keep your finger crossed that it will work soon.

...will it take till my new website will finally be up and working you are wondering? I wonder the same... Since almost two weeks I am figuring out with my provider and my domain company to find a way that they can go live with my site. But it seem that my nerves will get wretched some more on this theme. I really hope that they manage it til end of the week, which is not really likely at the current stage. Maybe my luck is coming back and it will work anyway.

...will it take till I'm healthy again I'm wondering. I am now in pain for several days and I'm coughing out my soul. Tomorrow I'll se the doctor and I hope at least he has some good news at the end of the week.

...till they found a good solution that Windows Vista is working properly? I am a total fan of new technology and like to be up to date. But what did Windows think when they launched Vista? I mean is there anybody out there where Vista is working properly?

...till Christmas? Two months people and then Christmas is already over. Go and search for some good gifts, time is running!

...does it take to get a Canvas delivered? My comapny said 5 days maybe I should order one as a gift to myself. Love the idea of a 120x80 canvas in my office.

the afterpains of our escape

It defenitely seem that I am not made for escapes or holidays. Everytime I get sick. And this time I got sick like hell... I even had to go to the emergency early this morning as I was not able to breath anymore. I am an asthmatic already but when I get a real bad cold it turns really worse. This time even my inhalator did no good anymore and I started to panick. Luckily they could help me and got me a lot of medicine which hopefully helps me to feel like a real human again very soon.

Other than that Congratulations to my dear friend Alexander and his wife Manuela to the arrival of their first Child Hannah-Marie. Look how cute she is:

sweet escape

The last 3 days my husband and I were able to enjoy some wonderful time in a very lovely hotel in the Austrian Alps. We both enjoyed this sweet escape so much and finally had some time to relax and some time on our own. We were so lucky to find a hotel with an amazingly well price/service balance. I can really recommend you this hotel if you ever plan a sweet escape yourself and want to enjoy the glorius beauty of the alps, amazing food and some leisure moments a deux.

Day 1 in my new life

Here we are, day 1 in my life. Can't really believe how fast the time passed since they told me I have to leave the company August, 24. After the last few weeks I have to say that it is somehow also a relief not be employed there anymore. I just look forward what is coming up. Monday my course to build a Business Plan for my own company will start. I'm really excited for that one to start. And as a goodbye gift I received a gift voucher for a beutician so I will enjoy some relaxing treatmens I truly deserve and require.

Ok, I liked Breach. Maybe it's not the best movie I've ever seen, but I mean there's also a lot worse than 110 minutes Ryan Philippe... Looking forward to his next movie. I'll be defenitely be in the audience.

My new website is on it's way....

I had to change my former template as I was not able to upload any more pictures, categories, pricelists - all the essentials. I only know a tiny bit of Flash programming which is not enough to manage my old template in the way I require my website to be. I still believe that Flash is one of the coolest Adobe programs (when you are able to use it to the max) and would love to learn some more. But currently, I just don't have the time and money to do so. That's why I simply prefer to pretend that I was outgrowon my old one.

Yes, I admit it. I have been really bad on bloggin lately as also with most of anything else regarding duties... I am still adapting the wedding pictures and also some other shootings I've done. - Just stay tuned. They will be ready very soon.

And now the true reason for my bad mood which is very simple. As most of you may know, I am unfortunately not a fulltime phtographer, even tough this is my big dream which hopefully may come true in the near future. This means most of the week days I stay in an office and work as a communications coordinator. I liked my job (yes, I use past tense). I've learned so much during the past few years especially design wise and also how the business world is running and I am truly thankful for all the experiences I made. But there is a big, huge, large BUT, the company changed extremely during the time since I've started working. And honestly it was not too much fun working there anymore. Fortunately or unfortunately due to some sad circumstances I have to find a new job... So as you can imagine my focus was a little disturbed and I needed a moment to gain back to myself. If anyone needs a creative, savvy, sarcastic geek, just let me know.

Other than that: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my little sister. She is turning 15 today. I wish you all the best and may all your dreams come true. Just remember to reach them you must start working on them. Don't let anyone or anything come inbetween. Just follow your heart. And as a little sneak, that's one gift you will get tonight...

Last Saturday Philippe and I had the opportunity to be wedding photographers for the first time. As you can assume we were quite nervous as Philippe only shoot a few years ago a civil wedding and I did not even that. We took tons of pictures, to be true more than 3000 in total. But we wanted to be sure not to miss any of the important moments and luckily we did not too bad. After the hours of shooting the work is not nearly done. Now it is proof and editing time. This will take me some more days if not weeks. I defenitely need to work on my workflow...

Yes today we celebrate Switzerland as it is our national day. Really cool to have a day off. Especially if the weather is as nice as today! Phil and I enjoyed our day going up to the Brienzerrothorn in the Bernese Alps. It was just so cool and we were lucky to enjoy the wonderful sight and ourselves.

Actually there is not too much up at the moment. I am really looking forward to the wedding which I will shoot in two weeks together with my husband. This will be exciting and a huge challenge. But I am confident that we will get niiiice pictures.

I read Harry Potter last weekend and love it. I think beside book 1 this is the best one. J.K. Rowling you rule! The only sad thing after the long waiting is that there will be no sequel, but I also believe it is better to end at one point than to write and end with just blah.

Other than this I started serius blog stalking, lol. Especially [b]eckers and Jessica Claires blog. There is just so much valuable information on their blogs that I am addicted. And they and their friends are just such awesome photogs. Just pure inspiration heaven for little Miss Linder.

3rd Wedding Anniversary

We celebrated yesterday and today (yes, twice! you may know husband and wife do not always have the same wedding day... especially as here in Switzerland the official wedding is not the same as the ceremony in the church. So we wed twice once at the civil registry office and once in the church 25/26.6.04). And my supestar of a husband suprised me! I had no clue he prepared an overnight stay at the place where we had our church wedding (http://www.schlossmuenchenwiler.ch). It was just the perfect getaway. Super delicous food, a very nice suite to sleep in (with a bath tube in the rooom itself...), wonderful breakfast buffet... just a dream. I just loved it!

Just a little note that I am alive and busy. Tomorrow finally our preparations for our customer event meet the end and the hard work as well the fun part begin. Looking forward to it and honestly also to its end. An almost endless time of preparation with many struggles is really taking on our nerves... Further "the light" workshop started and I LOVE it, it is really awesome and I am sooo eager to learn all the new techniques. There are so many talented people in there, just aaaawww.

Here's my attempt on our first assignment. Defently improvable but I think for the first attempt not tooo bad...

Behind

I am sooooo behind... with almost everything I am doing, aaargh. Still have about 3 sessions to proof (said that I have already done 3 this week). Just can't get out of the feeling to be behind. Why's that?. I know that there is just a little more to go to than 1 week till the biggest work event SCC is going on. Can't believe how the time is just flying. Next week will be really a tough one and also the week after. But then I hope that I may finally be able to take a few days off. And what I am especially looking forward is my photoworkshop with Christof Engeli (he was the photographer of our wedding). So excited about it and can't wait til 20.6.. Otherwise the light workshop finally started and I guess it will be a tough one to catch up with all these things going on. The week after SCC will be anyway packed. I will have 3 shootings this week, kind of cool, ha? But the good thing I get also a few things done e.g. the proofing and at least I am somewhat not behing my Heidi Swapp class, posted my May Layout on the 31st, haha.

Saturday I had the pleasure to do a second photoshooting of my dear friend S. She is so beautyful even with the huge bump she is currently carrying around :) And I was so happy to have finally a reason to use my 5d! I love, love, love, love this camera. Not that the 400d does bad pictures, it is just different and i am in love with it.

I am now the proud owner of a 5d (ok technically i was it from the moment I made the payment, I know, but now as I hold the camera in my hands I really belive I own it). And she is so fantastic! Such a difference to the 400d (which I still love as she is my first camera love). I am so giddy to shoot something but sadly there was not much to capture (husband and tomcat both disappeared in the second my camera hung around my neck, how come?)

Have to say this is really a cool week so far! Just finished the proofing of two sessions (still 3 to go...), got my 5d, 2 thunderstorms (love them, but only when I'm save at home) and the best of it, my husband cooked for me on Monday for Lunch! Super delicous pasta with salmon sauce, loved it. Really hope he's surprising me some more with his superyummy food *wink*. And the week is still going on, next Monday is off due to a holiday means already a good start for next week and some more time for me to get some proofing done...

yes, guys you guess it. The lucky girl who has all these cool things am I!
Yesterday was just an amazing day. First I had a fotoshooting in the morining with M. She is really sweet and cool. Got some really nice pics. Then I had Brunch with my husband. We enjoyed his homemade braided butter bread (a typical swiss specialty, if you wanna see a picture google for "Züpfe"). Then we went to Mediamarkt to buy a bigger memory card for my camera. My cutiepie of hubby then asked me if I would like to go for a walk down at the river. I certainly could not resist... when driving there we talked about the new camera. We knew we need a second one for backup but were not sure which one it should be. We agreed it would not make sense to buy two similar cameras so the 400d was out of the race. Left are the 30d and the 5d. Beside the big price difference there were many cons and pros for each. But I knew if I could just decide it would be the 5d. It is just perfect. So lucky as I am my husband agreed on buying one! After we returned I went directly to the internet site where I saw it for a very good price and ORDERED it! Yep, now I have to wait til it arrives... hopefully it will be soon that I get my new camera to play with. Then in the late afternoon I had another shooting with S. Also really cute girl and very easy to do. I just recongnised that I have to go to the office tomorrow to proof the pictures as here with PSCS2 I have not all the possibilities I have with PSCS3. I did not notice a huge difference, just until now. For proofing RAW CS3 is way better!

So girls, one more day to wait till you get some sneak peak of your pictures... sorry for that.

AEzine Challenge

After beeing so lazy and not posting for a whole week. I will show you now a layout I created for the Ali Edwards AEzine Challenge. We were ment to use products which lay araound and are never used. As I started scrapbooking only 1.5 years ago there is not too much very old stuff. And as I have anyway problems to use my material ata all to create a page I tought it is time to a) use my material and b) create a layout. As far as I can remember the only layouts I created were for challenges or classes... Seems like I have big problems to just create layouts for me without reason. I always have the feeling I have nothing to scrap about than myself and that is somewhat boring. So I am grateful for challenges like these who help me kicking my ass to get some layouts done. And remember due to my HSBPS class I even started my beloved hobby photography. Must be some reason for that.

This afternoon I visited Family J. They are all so cute and lovely. And as we currently enjoy sunny summer weather (28°C) they offered me Lemon sorbet, so yummy especially when it is this hot. And it tastes even better with some Cola to drink - if you never had it, try it it is supper yummy.

During my visit I snapped some cute pictures of Annika and Nora. They are really super sweet and so cute to watch.

Baby shooting

Yesterday I had my first try on a Baby shooting. And I have to admit this is quite hard to do! Praise for those who are master in it.

It is much harder than the shootings I did with my sister, but I loved it anyway. And I guess with some more practise it will get easier and more natural. I especially noticed that I lacked of experience on how to pose him.

Out of the many I did I got a few shots I really like. And Gianluca is such a little cuddlebug, don't you agree?

Love the evening sunlight and sunflare. Would really love to know how to do them correctly. So I tried a little bit around with my sister and the new lens. Guess for a start not too bad... The biggest problem I face is the focus. Due to the sun the camera seems not to be able to focus so I tried manual focus. But on the small display it is quite hard to see how sharp the picture really is...

I wrote on Sunday my site is alive. It already died again. Tried yesterday to updated it as it had a few spelling mistakes and I wanted to make the font a little bit bigger... and then I uploaded all my files again as I did on Sunday. And then guess what, nothing, rien, niente, nada. The thing is not working anymore. Tried it a million times upload, delete, reupload. Generated all the files several times, upload, delete, reupload, still not working. I am so pissed of this, what the hell did I wrong??? I really can't see it. Sent now a trouble ticket to my provider really hope they may help me. The funny thing is if you try to load the flash file directly the site works, so the file is up, the index file is right but somewhat it hates me.
